MORNING GUILD: As the 20th anniversary for the Quilts ‘N’ Things Quilt Day approaches, the daytime guild accepted Cathy’s offer to create and maintain the Guild’s website. Several members stayed after the regular meeting to contribute suggestions on what should be included on the website and choose a website template.
The photo now at the top of the website is temporary. Guild members are invited to send a digital photo to Cathy, who is Webmistress. She will adjust the photo to the size needed for the web banner and print snapshots of the website with the contributed photos. Members will get a chance to choose the “look” they like best. Members are also invited to contribute feedback on what they would like to see on the site. Email photos and comments/suggestions to Cathy. Be sure your photos are very clear! Evening guild members are also invited to participate. Your information page is already waiting! If you leave a comment on this post, it will not appear right away. I moderate the comments before they become public.
Appreciation: The president read several notes of appreciation from recipients of the breast cancer totes and pillows made by Guild members. On January 7, sixteen of the bags were presented to Ken Moore, Executive Director of the Holzer Center for Cancer Care. A workshop to make more of the bags is planned before summer.
Show and Tell: Most guild members must have had projects “in progress” because the number of finished items was slim compared to the number usually brought to show and tell. The examples displayed were all the more admired by those attending.
Foldaway Bags: With the economy the way it is, and also the focus on “shopping green,” more and more people are picking up their groceries at “bag your own” stores. Always on the lookout for useful items to make, our members completed foldaway bags to stash those goodies from the local market. They brought fabric to coordinate with the orange or blue fabric kits provided by the Guild. What a treat for the eyes to see the colorful combinations of the completed bags!
I like the shadow underneith the photos in the post.
These little quilt blocks are neat, too!
